Abstract:

This proceedings, Soil Suction Applications in Geotechnical Engineering Practice, consists of papers presented in a technical session at the 1995 ASCE Annual Convention held in San Diego, California, October 22-26, 1995. The papers address practical applications of using soil suction in the practice of geotechnical engineering in unsaturated soils. Case histories are emphasized. The issues addressed in these proceedings are intended to demonstrate the applicability of soil suction to solve problems involving geotechnical engineering problems occurring in unsaturated soils, to encourage the use of soil suction in addressing practical problems, and to show advances in applying unsaturated soil mechanics.
