Abstract:

This proceedings, Advances in Cement and Concrete, consists of papers presented at the Engineering Foundation Conference held in Durham, New Hampshire, July 24-29, 1994. It begins with a summary of the use of cement and concrete in the past up to the present. The majority of the book explores new areas of research and development in the use of cement and concrete such as: 1) Clinkering; 2) hydration of cementitious materials; 3) fracture and fiber reinforcement; 4) chemical and mineral admixtures; 5) performance and durability; and 6) waste management. These papers will help the engineer to better understand and use cement and concrete.
