Abstract: A Model to predict the maximum local scour depth downstream of the SAF stilling basin is presented. The model is based on stability analysis of a particle attacked by the hydrodynamic forces at the point of incipient motion and 15 sets of experimental tests. The experimental program consist of three SAF stilling basin models and five different particle size.
