Abstract:

This paper presents a case study of the process through which a relational database management system and stand-alone application programs are developed and integrated to form a comprehensive computer system for pavement management. The database serves as the primary repository of data used by the application programs. The application programs support a broad area of analysis, and are organized into three modules: data collection, project level analysis, and network level analysis.
