Abstract:

Fabrication and erection of steel bridges are very error-prone processes. Bridge engineers at the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) felt that there is a need for the development of an expert system for fabrication errors of steel bridges and corresponding remedial actions. For this reason, a knowledge-based system (BFX) was developed in Level 5 Object.
