Abstract:

The navigation analysis for the Master Manual review examined mainstem reservoir regulation alternatives by evaluating the benefits of reservoir releases for barge transportation. Navigation benefits were measured as cost and rate savings for barge traffic compared to movement by an alternative mode and as waterway induced reductions in rail rates for traffic competitive with movement by barge.
