Abstract:

Federal Central Valley Project (CVP) operations and policies of reservoir storage and river releases for fish and wildlife protection and restoration are discussed. Prescribed strategies for instream flow scheduling, habitat protection, temperature control, toxic point source management and non consumptive use for ecosystem protection are presented. Environmental legislation for the operation of the Federal CVP is reviewed.
