The TMA Wave-Energy Constraint and Cohesive Shore-Profile Shapesby Charles N. Johnson, (M.ASCE), US Army Corps of Engineers, Chicago, United States,
Document Type: Proceeding Paper
Part of: Ocean Wave Measurement and Analysis
Abstract: A relation by Andreanov between wave-energy loss and nearshore slope, when combined with the TMA wave-energy constraint, is shown to closely approximate the classical Bruun/Dean shape. Further, it predicts a bar array and a swash zone, and can be applied to cases of constrained maximum wave-orbital velocity.
