Abstract:

A methodology is presented to analyze lattice truss structures including both material and geometric nonlinearities. Modeled member material behavior modes include: buckling, yielding, inelastic post-buckling behavior, unloading, and reloading. Geometric nonlinearity is based on updating the linearized Lagrangian space truss displacement equations. Interaction of the nonlinear loading behavior results in structure force redistributions which can lead member unloading and reloading response.
