Abstract:

There have been attempts to develop representations of design standards and procedures for computing representations of the design standard on which computations are based. However, within the last decade, there has been limited success in transferring the results of this research into practice. Presented in this paper is the history of this field, the reason for its limited success, and what must be done to be more successful.
