Abstract: Design of the Kuala Lumpur (KL) Downtown People-Mover had to be accomplished on a fast-track schedule. The system contractor assembled a team of experts from North America and Malaysia to develop the design. Key to developing the design in the tight time frame was overlapping design tasks and developing design tools that were compatible with the computer hardware and software of both the North American and Malaysian engineers.
