Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Automated People Movers IV

Abstract:

The objective of this research is to define an efficient and cost effective concept for an Automated People Mover (APM) System. Current solutions are relatively expensive to install, have limited expansion possibilities and/or jeopardize the entire operation of a property when equipment malfunctions. This paper is based on ideas developed by analyzing inquiries for proposals and actual experience designing, manufacturing, installing, operating and maintaining various technologies of APM systems in operation. This paper is to initiate discussion toward a low cost solution, within the context of existing technical constraints, for an APM.
