Abstract:

One of the important results of the SHRP Asphalt Research Program was to develop a comprehensive pavement performance model that reliably predicts rutting, fatigue cracking and thermal cracking. The SHRP A-005 research contractor had the responsibility of developing these models in support of the binder and mixture specifications. This paper provides an overview of the performance models developed under the SHRP A-005 contract and incorporated into the SUPERPAVETM mixture design system.
