Mechanics of Riprap Movement in Tidal Flowby Cyril Galvin,
Document Type: Proceeding Paper
Part of: Hydraulic Engineering
Abstract: This analysis emphasizes the need to obtain data on the size and shape of riprap pieces as a function of movement, data which are surprisingly difficult to obtain from published studies. This analysis also indicates why riprap design for sites subject to reversible tidal flow must be somewhat more conservative for uniform flows of the same velocity.
