Abstract:

Within the scope of a multi-disciplinary concept, aims and measures of ecological and water resources management at the river Rhine in Nordrhein-Westfalen (Germany) are analyzed. Especially, the interests of floodcontrol, navigation, and ecology are integrated in the concept. For the feasibility of the project, integral data and information management is indispensable. For this purpose, an object-orientated geographic information system (GIS) was developed.
