Abstract:

The results of field geological-lithodynamic and geomorphological studies and the review of published data have been used to analyze the structure of the North-Eastern Black Sea coastal shelf zone. Three main parts of this zone have been recognized: inner (coastal), central, and outer parts. Specific features of their structure are discussed. The main factors controlling the intensity and direction of sedimentation, loose material transport, and bottom relief formation are named.
