Abstract:

To complete the referred to projects as used the highly maneuverable, 1,300 cubic-yard-capacity hopper dredges ATCHAFALAYA and MERMENTAU, both of which are self-propelled, split-hopper, seagoing vessels. Each of the hopper dredges is about 200 feet long, with a 40 - foot breadth, and a light and loaded draft of seven feet and 15 feet, respectively. the ATCHAFALAYA has one diesel electric driven pump with 20-inch discharge diameter and one drag arm, while the MERMENTAU has two diesel direct driven pumps with 16-inch discharge diameter and two drag arms.
