Abstract:

This paper concerns the establishment of a facilities management (here after referred to as FM) system using ready-made computer software. In general, most so-called FM systems consist of special software and expensive hardware. Thus most FM systems are expensive and restricted to certain fields. However, we aimed to construct an FM system which uses ready-made programs and inexpensive personal computers. We also made considerable use of multi-media to handle information such as drawings. photographs, letters and numerals in this system and designed in order to retrieve the required information immediately.
