Abstract:

A multimedia information system currently under development for storage and retrieval of site and building related information is presented. The system is being designed with university and large corporation campuses in mind. It would help to create a central pool of critical information available to the management and staff in cases of emergency, or for routine evaluation and assignment of priority levels to various repair, rehabilitation, and maintenance tasks. A pilot information system generated for the Arts and Humanities building of the campus of the California State University at Dominques Hills is presented. A user interface is under consideration, that will permit the user to zoom into any particular location in California from a map of the State shown on screen.
