Water Allocation: Matching Supply with Demand

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Water Management in the '90s: A Time for Innovation

Abstract:

The Colorado-Big Thompson (C-BT) Project was designed in the 1930's as a supplemental water supply for water users in northeastern Colorado. Since that time the water allocation has shifted from primarily irrigation supply to a mix of irrigation supply and municipal and industrial uses. This conversion has necessitated a reassessment of the manner in which the water supply is allocated each year to the project's allottees.
