Lattice Girders for Shotcrete Support

Abstract:

Lattice Girders complement the use of shotcrete for underground support by reducing the risk involved with using shotcrete alone for temporary or permanent lining of a tunnel or shaft. This reduction in risk is accomplished by three basic properties that the lattice girder provides to the support system. 1. Temporary support while the shotcrete gains its compressive strength. 2. A shape template that conforms to the designed shotcrete arch structure. 3. A minimum thickness template that assures a minimum depth of shotcrete to carry the design thrust load.
