Abstract:

This paper presents a study on influence of the properties of young shotcrete as a tunnel lining on tunnel construction sequences, by a closed-form analytical solution of a circular tunnel. A review of young shotcrete properties and behaviour of the rock mass in the vicinity of the tunnel face is given. A parametric study is performed and the results show that a lining failure will occur if the tunnel excavations are ill-arranged.
