Abstract:

Time variant reliability with deteriorating resistance under a stochastic load process is considered. An outcrossing formulation for fatigue degradation is presented, and a simple and conservative approximation based on a time invariant model is proposed. The formulations are extended to environmental load processes typical for marine structures. The methods are verified by Monte Carlo time step simulation.
