Abstract:

A cable supported roof structure for Chientan station (R18A) at Taipei Mass Rail Transit system's Tan-Sui line are under construction. Unique wind and cross sectional dynamic effect has been studied. Wind tunnel tests on roof structure with added dampers were also performed. Detail description of the structure and damper design to control structure's response will be outlined in this paper. Unique construction and cable construction will also be discussed.
