Abstract:

The Recommendations for Wind Loads of Buildings and Structures of the Architectural Institute of Japan have now been updated. This paper presents the drafts of the new Recommendations relating to wind-induced responses and the resultant load estimations. The along-wind loads estimation is improved, and across-wind and torsional loads are newly specified for high-rise buildings with a rectangular section. The wind loads acting on long-span roofs are specified as well.
