Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Structural Engineering in Natural Hazards Mitigation

Abstract:

Twenty eccentrically braced frames (EBFs) are designed using the current seismic design code and newly developed step-by-step design procedure. The EBFs have a variety of link lengths and story heights. Each EBF is dynamically analyzed using four strong ground motions. Effects of link length on the seismic performance as well as economy of EBF are discussed.
