Abstract:

The paper summarizes the result of an analytical study conducted by the authors concerning the evaluation of the seismic performance of buildings with unreinforced masonry infills. The analytical method is based on the concept of equivalent strut and three-hinge arch. Its application is illustrated by an existing 12-story building in Los Angeles.
