Part of: Piles Under Dynamic Loads

Abstract:

The potential significance of the impact of liquefaction on the dynamic response of pile foundations has been studied through a numerical study. Results of this study demonstrated that due to liquefaction the pile-head acceleration may be amplified or it may be attenuated; pile-head displacement and pile moment will be greatly amplified in most cases; and the depth where the maximum pile moment occurs increases significantly.
