Abstract:

Estimates of sedimentgraphs and temporal distributions of sediment concentrations are essential for prediction of pollutant concentrations in streams and reservoirs. In such predictions, land cover is an important factor as it controls runoff amount, temporal variations in stream discharge and sediment yield. In this study the influence of partial deforestation upon sediment yield and sedimentgraph shapes has been simulated for a small lowland watershed in central Poland.
