Abstract:

Reliability analysis of postbuckling strength is discussed on rectangular plates with initial deflections whose statistical mechanism is estimated by the maximum entropy criteria. Assuming a sine curve the statistical properties of initial deflections are explicitly expressed in terms of their input energy. Reliability analysis shows sensitivity of such initial deflection to postbuckling strength assumed the firstly yielded maximum fiber stress.
