Abstract:

The people mover central control systems perform many automatic functions, are built with off-the-shelf redundant hardware, include advanced color graphics and touch screen operator interfaces, have an embedded simulation, and are supported and monitored remotely by AEG Westinghouse personnel in Pittsburgh. The paper describes the central control functions; central control hardware architecture; central control operator interface; central control simulation; remote access support and analysis.
