by William H. Small, Aviation Planning for Bechtel Corp, San Francisco, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: International Air Transportation: A New International Airport

Abstract:

The New Seoul Metropolitan Airport (NSMA), to be built on a man-made island near Seoul, Korea, will have access to the city by bridge, rail, and dedicated freeway. When completed, NSMA will have the capacity to accommodate 100 million passengers and 7 million tons of cargo annually, and will be the major travel hub of Northeast Asia. The master plan maximizes the amount of developable land, both to aid in financing the project and to make the airport an attractive business site.
