by Peter C. Bahm, USAF, Wurtsmith AFB, United States,
Kenneth W. Polasek, USAF, Wurtsmith AFB, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Aircraft/Pavement Interaction: An Integrated System

Abstract:

This article is based on Captain Bahm's Master's thesis and was co-authored by his thesis advisor, Captain Polasek. The article is reprinted from the Airpower Journal's Summer 1991 issue. The intent of both the article and the thesis is to increase awareness of the relationship between Air Force Civil Engineering's wartime airfield repair operations and the design and development of tactical aircraft. The understanding of this relationship may have an important impact on the wartime capabilities of future tactical aircraft.
