Rock in the Limestone Regions of the Southeastern United Statesby E. C. (Buddy) Yokley, Jr., Long Foundation Drilling Co, Hermitage, United States,
Document Type: Proceeding Paper
Part of: Detection of and Construction at the Soil/Rock Interface
Abstract: Problems often arise in the shaft drilling industry in the Southeast. The karst areas in this region have certain situations found in few other places. Erratic boulders and limestone pinnacles often test the definition of 'what is rock?' for pay purposes. A thorough subsurface investigation can prevent many unfortunate situations from developing and assure timely completion of foundation drilling projects.
