Part of: Irrigation and Drainage
Abstract: A prototype system of subsurface drains for collection of shallow groundwater and reuse of drainage water for reuse in irrigation was examined. The system involved a field with subsurface drains, a reservoir for storing drainage water, and conveyance facilities for irrigation with drainage water. Benefits of recycling include the reduction in demand for fresh water, improvement of drainage within an irrigation project, and reduction of pollutant discharge into wetlands.
