Abstract:

This paper will discuss the hydraulic model studies for hydropower projects developed by Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation (a non-federal entity) at existing Corps of Engineers navigation locks and dams on the Arkansas River in Arkansas. Specific topics will include a description of the required model studies, the necessary steps to obtain Corps' approvals of these studies performed at a private laboratory, and the role of Benham-Holway Power Group, in facilitating these approvals.
