Abstract: This paper states ten propositions which describe the behavior of 'wave fronts', i.e., adsorbate concentration versus distance profiles at given elapsed times, for packed bed adsorption reactors. Proofs for the propositions were developed based upon the analysis of results from materials balance computer modeling. The propositions provide the basis for reactor column design.
