by Stephen R. Weil, Bechtel Environmental Inc, San Francisco, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Environmental Engineering

Abstract:

The Land Disposal Restrictions, imposed by Congress in 1984 and implemented by the Environmental Protection Agency, impose constraints on the management of mixed waste. Except in very limited circumstances where a specific treatment is mandated, these constraints include requirements for treatment of mixed wastes prior to land disposal and prohibitions on long-term storage.
