Abstract:

A class of time integration algorithms is presented that asymptotically annihilate high frequency response while introducing little dissipation in the low frequency regime. The algorithms are based upon using finite elements in time. Independent and equal-order interpolations are prescribed for the displacement and velocity fields. Results are presented demonstrating the improved performance of the proposed algorithms compared to commonly used time integration methods.
