Abstract:

An expert system was developed that automatically generates drainage area boundaries and times of concentration using digital elevation and stream data. Drainage areas and hydrographs were generated by the system and by conventional manual means. A comparison between the system and manual means showed no differences. The major difference is that the system can produce these parameters in a fraction of the time required to do so manually.
