Abstract:

During the seismic hazard assessment for a proposed nuclear power station in North Wales, UK, a remote sensing study was carried out in conjunction with other, wide-ranging geological investigations. The study used Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) and Seasat SAR imagery. Image processing and interpretation of the TM data were iterative; the later iterations being designed to answer specific questions raised by the geological studies and t initial remote sensing interpretations.
