Communicating Confidence and Creating Credibilityby Seve Ungermark, Swedish Nuclear Fuel & Waste, Management Co, Stockholm, Sweden,
Abstract: To educate the general public and their opinion leaders in radioactive waste management is imperative to reach the decision where to site the Swedish repository for spent nuclear fuel. After analyzing existing opinion figures over the years, new approaches have been made in Sweden with less technical messages. By using touring exhibitions, manned by people with hands-on experience of waste management, a two-way communication climate has been reached.
