Abstract: An early model of ice jam configuration in wide, prismatic channels is generalized for applications to natural streams. Test runs are carried out to illustrate model performance and study the configuration of non-equilibrium jams. The model is next applied to a unique field data set that includes measurements of ice jam thickness and satisfactory predictions are obtained. Ideas for future work are outlined.
