Abstract:

This paper reviews European research and development in wave energy, ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC), and ocean tidal power. For each technology, a country-by-country summary (in alphabetical order) is given for those activities that have a relatively long development history, that have involved field testing, measurement, or demonstration programs, and for which full-scale plant designs have been prepared (and in some cases, built).
