Abstract:

The Task Committee on Transport Processes at the Interface of Water Column and Bottom Sediment was formed on October 1, 1989 under the Technical Committee on Hydrologic Transport and Dispersion of the American Society of Civil Engineers. This paper describes the background information behind the formation of the Task Committee as well as the objectives and charges of the Task Committee. Some recent research activities relevant to the Task Committee will be briefly discussed.
