Abstract:

Precast reinforced concrete pipe is the most commonly used pipe material for jacking operations. For over 90 years, concrete pipe techniques, procedures and applications established the state-of-the-art for trenchless technology. Concrete pipe's long history in pipe jacking provides the opportunity to review and evaluate the effectiveness of various pipe jacking principles.
