Abstract:

This contribution presents an analysis of the installation of flexible pipes in granular soil. The deformation of the pipe cross section is measured in field and laboratory tests. It is shown that the effect of soil compaction forms a major load on the flexible structure. The behaviour of the coupled system is simulated with numerical, finite element method, calculations.
