Abstract:

This Proceedings, which consists of 94 papers presented at the Second International Conference on Automated People Movers (APM's) held in Miami, Florida on March 13-15, 1989, covers a wide variety of topics. Of these papers, the first six provide an overview of the field while the following papers cover such topics as planning; design and construction; financing and procurement; operating and maintenance; and safety and reliability. APM systems outside the North American continent, special applications for APM's, aerial cable people movers, and the Las Colinas APM in Texas are additional topics discussed in this Proceedings.
