Abstract:

The papers included in this publication were presented at the 1989 LIFE symposium and address the legal, institutional, financial and environmental aspects of water issues. These aspects are discussed in relationship to interbasin transfers, water management, global water/environmental issues, and control of water pollution. In addition, evolving concepts in water management such as water allocation laws, water marketing, and conflict resolution are discussed. In the aggregate, these papers underscore the increasing importance of the legal, institutional, financial and environmental aspects of water issues.
