On Sediment Transport Modeling

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Sediment Transport Modeling

Abstract:

Basic elements of a comprehensive water-sediment model are hydraulic, sediment, and morphologic computations. The stream tube approach and minimum energy dissipation rate theories are the theoretical basis used in the Generalized Stream Tube model for Alluvial River Simulation (GSTARS) model for these computations. Examples are used to demonstrate the capabilities of the GSTARS.
